A song about two individuals growing up, leaving behind an innocent childhood. Together they move through the seasons of life and their worlds open up to greater possibilities.

The reference to "Lincoln" should be explained-- it is not a car, as you might initially think.

When my siblings and I were little kids, my Dad decided to introduce us to politics in the most creative and humorous way possible: by naming tree stumps on a hiking path after presidents. He called the rotted, nasty stumps "Clintons" and the pretty stumps "Lincolns". So the boy in the song is carving our names into a tree stump, not a car.
